There is no magic!!
It does happen sometimes that a student has inborn capabilities to learn new languages and sometimes it is not so. So if you can't speak English there is nothing wrong in it, but it leads to incompetitiveness in this professional world. In India English is regarded as the languages of status, professionalism and the sign of being cultured. India is not like Russia or Germany or France, where they have developed using their own language. Sanskrit is regarded as the best languages for the computers but we are interested in English only. The only advantage of Indian government using English is that it can issue single circular for all Indians in the country.
A simple boy coming from a small city feels backward or complex because he does not knows English but this is not the case in Russia. And since we are so fond of using English, the natural talent of small towns and cities is blocked because of that! Indian rural population is finding it tough to progress and "English" is one of the reasons for that.
When Indian government is not supporting Hindi, then it means that you should learn English.
How to Improve English:
- Read English newspaper daily. Write down atleast one unknown word in your notebook along with the sentence. Write down the meaning of the word using dictionary. And start using that word in your verbal communication.
- Try to speak English with other students. Rather than laughing on each other just keep on talking for hours. Also, note your mistakes and try not committing the same mistake next time. Always remember improvement is the way to perfection.
- Watch and hear news in English and watch TV programmes in English.
- Read good novels and magazines.
- Go through the basics grammar books of good publisher - English grammar of class 9th and 10th would be quiet useful.
- Always try to speak in an accent that doesn't sound fake, because that may lead to wrng spellings. We always write what we speak.
- Start today itself.
