NTSE (National Talent Search Examination) VIII

STSE (State Talent Search Examination)

NTSE Syllabus:

The Syllabus for NTSE is not announced as such by the NCERT.

For NTSE First stage:

Few states like Kerala, Haryana etc give details in notification which says that syllabus covered would be of upto 8th class. Kerala is best in this regard which clearly says that it refer to both NCERT and state board books. Considering in NTSE second stage , NCERT books dominate, hence it is good for all state organisation to consider NCERT books also while framing the question paper.

Since it is conducted for class 8th students, it is expected that the students should cover class 6th, 7th and 8th books. Few states sometimes ask 1-2 questions from 9th class, but that should not be the matter of concern and student should focus on the 6th, 7th and 8th class only and try to score > 75% marks.

State Level: Few states do announce the syllabus. which is basically 6th, 7th and 8th class syllabus. These states prefer both state level and NCERT books while making the question paper with tendency to switch over to NCERT books in the next few years.

NTSE exam consist of two parts : SAT and MAT

SAT consist of Science, Maths and Social Studies

MAT i.e. Mental Ability Test consist questions of mental aptitude. This student should cover from the various books available in the market, in case student is not enrolled for our correspondence course.

Both MAT and SAT has equal weightage.

Normally in the first round MAT and maths plays important role while in Second round SAT , especially S.St and Maths plays an important role.
