NTSE 2011 (2010 - 2011)- Second Stage results Specific deta about the result:

• Max Total marks scored by Topper is 186.
• Max marks scored in MAT & SAT are 98 & 88 - by the TOPPER
• Chandigarh(10/14) ,Delhi(44/65) & Punjab (51/84)has done well in stage-II exam with success rate of 71.4, 67.7 & 60.7 %
• Total selection was 1063 out of 4265 candidates.
• Success rate of UP was poor, only 10.7% success rate.
• Delhi was the topper in terms of percentage selection and Maharashtra was the topper in the number of selections.

Information about NTSE 2011-2012 1st round/stage i.e. STSE

1. STSE - State talent Search Exam. Many call this exam state level national talent search exam or the first stage of National Talent Search exam
2. Conducted for only 8th class studying students.
3. The Scholarship in Basic Sciences is provided up to PhD level while in professional courses like engineering, medical, law and mgmt scholarship is provided up to post graduation.
4. Total Scholarship: 1000
5. Scholarship amount: Rs 500/month
6. Reservation: 15% for SC, 7.5% to ST and 3% to PH
7. State quota is there in the first round while no state quota in the final award of the scholarship
8. Last date for submission: 31st Aug 2011 for most of the states. Vary in some states.
9. First (State) stage exam: 20th Nov 2011
10. Second (National) stage by NCERT: 13th May 2012.
11. As per NCERT paper will have 90 questions each in MAT and SAT in the first stage. Can vary in some states.

How to Apply for NTSE:

1. 1st stage is at state level, which is normally held in November. It is conducted at the state level. In some states, application form (July-August)can be downloaded from the website and in some states, you have to collect from the designated centres in the city.
2. Submit/Send the completely filled application form as per the instructions on the form. Normally it should be attested by the principal of your school and send by the school authorities to the concerned state.
3. If you qualifies 1st round, then you are eligible for the 2nd round (national level) , the exam will be conducted in May next year.
