Q 3: All high rankers in civil services are given IAS and then IPS? Ans: The service is allotted on basis of the following:
Suppose if your rank is 125 and your preference is IAS and then IPS, inc ase IAS seat is available , you would be given IAS, else IPS
Q 4: Is there a common exam for IAS, IPS and IFS? Ans: Yes, There are lot of other services included in the IAS exam. For example customs, excise etc. Q 5: Is there a reservation for freedom fighters in civil services exams? Ans: No
Q 6: How many subjects I have to choose to appear in civil services? Ans: In preliminary exam you have to appear in two subjects. 1 General Studies (compulsory) 2. Optional Subject (You have to select subject from the given list) In the Mains exam you have to appear in 3+ 3 sets of exams Set 1: General Studies + Subject 1 + Subject 2 Set 2: English + Optional Language + Essay Followed by the interview
Q 7: Suppose I have taken subject A in prelims. Can I take subject B and C in mains and leave subject A? i.e. Can i take another subject in mains, other than the subject taken in prelims? Ans: yes you can select different subjects.
